Chapitre I – Velours inaugurates the Chapitre Collection Sorbier Parfums, an olfactory library in which every creation is born from the heart of a Franck Sorbier Haute Couture collection.
Introduced during the 2025/2026 Winter Haute Couture show 'L’Eldorado',
Chapitre I - Velours becomes its olfactory continuation.
It translates the collection’s materials, emotions and creative vision into the language of fragrance.
Velvet is not approached as a mere aesthetic reference. It becomes a material to interpret, a presence to translate and a language to reinvent.
Through the vision of couturier Franck Sorbier and the olfactory writing of perfumer Olivier Perault, this fabric leaves the world of textiles to become a fragrance designed to be worn on the skin.
As the inaugural volume of this evolving collection, Chapitre I -Velours opens a dialogue between Haute Couture and Haute Perfumery, where each edition becomes a narrative of materials and extends the memory of a collection.

THE CREATIVE INTENTION
In the universe of Franck Sorbier, fabrics possess memory.
Velvet is among the most mysterious of them. Its depth absorbs light as much as it reveals it. Depending on the eye that beholds it, it transforms itself, revealing unexpected nuances and reflections.
Rather than recreating the scent of a fabric, Chapitre I seeks to translate what it awakens.

This creation does not tell the story of a textile.

Developed in collaboration with Robertet, the renowned French house celebrated for its expertise in natural ingredients, the composition of Chapitre I is the result of a meticulous search for balance, where every essence finds its rightful place without ever overpowering the whole.

THE MAKING
Chapitre I was born from the dialogue between two creators.
On one side, Frank Sorbier, whose work as a couturier has explored materials, light and emotion for more than four decades.
On the other, Olivier Perault, Senior Perfumer at Robertet, whose olfactory writing transforms that vision into a composition of remarkable precision.
From this encounter emerged a fragrance in which every detail—from the formula to the presentation—reflects the same creative commitment.
Production is then entrusted to carefully selected French artisans and manufacturers, whose expertise ensures that every edition faithfully reflects the Maison’s original creative intention.
THE EDITION
The bottle naturally reveals the colour of the fragrance extract,
while its silhouette affirms the identity of each edition.
The Edition drawer case, conceived as a protective keepsake,
draws inspiration from the world of treasured libraries and rare books.
Together they form an edition in which the vessel serves the creation without ever distracting from its original intention, preserving and revealing the fragrance alike.
